Signe & Emil's wedding

Where did you meet?
We met in 2009 when we started in 1st grade at Ordrup Gymnasium in the same class.
We immediately became best friends and spent a lot of time together, both after school and at parties, etc. Only half a year after school started, we became a couple.
How did he propose?
Emil proposed to me in August 2019, when we were on safari in Kenya. We had our own driver and it was our first afternoon/evening on the savanna. It was an absolutely fantastic experience to see elephants, zebras, giraffes, etc., and then to be proposed to in a big Jeep, just Emil and I (and the driver, of course) on an infinitely vast savanna. Simply fantastic!
The next 2 ½ weeks of holiday only got better. It was wonderful to be able to share it and talk about everything we could imagine for the wedding.
Which Karim Design dress did you choose and how did you know it was the right wedding dress?
I chose Karim Design without having visited any other places. I was recommended to you by a friend who is very similar to me.
The first time I was with you, Christina helped me – she was really sweet, skilled, calm, and pleasant to get help from.
I explained and showed pictures of what I wanted. Christina totally understood.
I tried on a lot of different dresses – some of which were a completely different style than what I wanted. But that was a good thing! It made me even more sure of what I wanted and didn't want ☺
When I put on the last dress, there was no doubt, it just had to be that one! Very simple and plain with an open back. Not too much frills.

Describe your wedding day look...
I wore the most beautiful dress, pink high (8cm) sandals, my hair in a bun, almost no jewelry, only diamond earrings, a borrowed gold bracelet, and of course, the engagement ring ☺ I had the most stunning bridal bouquet in white and green, with long stems.
How did you feel in your dress on your wedding day?
I felt perfectly comfortable. It fit exactly as it should, and that made me content and at ease. A truly wonderful feeling on such a big day.
I'm not usually the "center of attention" type, but it went so well, and I think that was partly because the dress fit perfectly.
Where did you get married? Tell us about the location, style, and atmosphere of your wedding day.
We got married in Taarbæk Church (my hometown). Rode a horse-drawn carriage through the deer park down to the garden where we held the reception. There were welcome bubbles and fruit (it was very hot that day). When we arrived, tapas and drinks were served, later wedding cake, and in the evening, we and 6 other couples went to Sticks n Sushi on the corner of Tivoli (on the terrace) for dinner. Everything was perfect! If you hadn't known better, you would have thought you were in Italy in the garden and in New York at Sticks ☺ The atmosphere was perfect!
What was the most challenging part of the planning?
We were supposed to have a big party at Stokkerup in Klampenborg, just outside Taarbæk. But due to corona, the whole setup was changed. But it didn't matter, all our guests were there, the scene was just changed.
What made your day extra special?
Everything! It's hard to pick one specific thing, because everything just fell into place ☺
Apart from the wedding cake, which crashed in the cake man's car because a cyclist pulled out in front of him and he naturally braked. But it was only "funny" and the cake man saved the cake so well, so it didn't matter ☺

What was the funniest moment of the day?
When we were in the church and didn't know when we were supposed to kiss each other, so the priest made a kissing face + kissing sound, and then we kissed – everyone laughed ☺
And then the cake ;-)
Where did you go for your honeymoon?
Due to corona, we haven't traveled. Instead, we took a long bike ride to Helsingør (we both ride racing bikes) and had lunch and took some small breaks along the way where we relaxed and saw, for example, Fredensborg Palace.
The real trip will have to wait.
Any final advice or words of wisdom you can share with Karim Design's future brides?
