Fine, narrow pleats of tulle cover the entire bodice of Elodie. Over the bust the pleats criss-cross in a wrap effect, and from under the bust to the waist they run horizontally. A draped off-the-shoulder band of tulle wraps around the upper arms, leaving the shoulders bare.
The silhouette is slim through the waist and hips and flares just above the knee. At the front, the pleats gather at the hip and sweep diagonally down across the skirt, and from the same point a narrow cascade of pleated tulle falls all the way to the hem. At the back the skirt is smooth, and the round chapel train ends in a softly sheer edge where the tulle extends slightly beyond the lining.
The back is high and covers the shoulder blades. The band forms a horizontal pleated edge across them, and a long row of small fabric-covered buttons runs down the centre back to below the seat. What is a pleated wedding dress?
A wedding dress in which the fabric is laid in fine, narrow pleats. On Elodie, pleated tulle covers the entire bodice, and on the skirt the pleats gather into a drape from the hip.
How does the off-the-shoulder band sit?
Below the shoulder point. The band wraps around the upper arms like short, draped sleeves and continues across the upper back. There are no straps.
Is Elodie a mermaid dress?
Not quite. Elodie flares just above the knee in a trumpet silhouette, whereas a mermaid dress only flares out around the knee. Both are fitted through the hips.
How sheer is Elodie?
Only at the edge. The tulle lies over an opaque lining, but at the hem and train it extends slightly beyond the lining, creating a softly sheer edge.
Can I see Elodie in person before I order?
Yes. The sample dress hangs in our bridal shop at Store Kongensgade 112, and it is the dress the model photos were created from. The Elodie you order will be made to your measurements.
