The mikado carries much of the look of Rosa Long. The fabric is heavy and structured, with a pearly sheen and a fine diagonal rib. It holds its shape, so the skirt falls in large, gentle folds and the lines of the dress can speak for themselves.
The bodice is smooth, with clean princess seams from the top edge down to the waist. The top edge curves gently over each side of the bust and dips very slightly at the centre front. From the natural waist, the skirt widens evenly into a classic A-line that ends in a long, round train.
The back is the signature of the dress: a long row of small mikado-covered buttons runs from the top edge, over the waist and all the way to the edge of the train. Do the buttons go all the way down?
Yes. The row of buttons runs down the centre back from the top edge, over the waist and down the skirt right to the edge of the train.
What is the difference between Rosa Long and Rosa Short?
Both are strapless, made in mikado and have a smooth bodice with princess seams. Rosa Long is floor-length with a long train and buttons all the way down the back. Rosa Short is high-low – shorter at the front, longer at the back – with a short train and a concealed zip.
Can I wear a bridal top with Rosa Long?
Yes, as a styling suggestion. The strapless top edge makes Rosa Long a good starting point for our bridal tops – for example Brina or Ilaria with balloon sleeves, Noemi with its off-the-shoulder band, or the long cape Livia. The tops are sold separately.
